Surkhet: The second Karnali International Film Festival is set to be inaugurated and conducted in two phases on Falgun 25 and 26 in Birendranagar, the capital of Karnali Province, and Gurans Rural Municipality of Dailekh.

According to the organizing body, Red Cherry Media Pvt. Ltd., the opening ceremony and a film discussion will take place in Birendranagar on Falgun 25. Similarly, on Falgun 26, a film tourism and agriculture dialogue will be held in Gurans Rural Municipality.

Festival director Chakra Bahadur Chand stated that the event aims to highlight Karnali’s potential on both national and international levels. “The festival’s objective is to promote the region’s tourist sites, religious locations, film shooting destinations, stories, and culture among filmmakers, directors, and relevant stakeholders,” he said.

Festival advisor Dr. Mahendra Kumar Malla mentioned that the event will showcase Karnali’s natural beauty, cultural diversity, and social issues.

Renowned actor Pradeep Khadka and actress Suhana Pant are expected to participate in the festival.
