The program on the second day of the Second Karnali International Film Festival was grandly held in Guras Municipality, Dailekh district, in Karnali Province.
Alongside film tourism, a dialogue program on agricultural promotion was also organized at the festival. The discussion involved Bharat Dhakal, Executive Director of Muktinath Agriculture Company, Narayan Kumar Shrestha, Director of Muktinath Development Bank, local farmers, and stakeholders, focusing on the role of local government, contributions of the federal government, and collaboration and investment in the agricultural sector.
During the discussion, Muktinath Group expressed its willingness to collaborate and invest in the agricultural sector. Guras Municipality Chairperson Top Bahadur Bisi and Vice-Chairperson Shiva Khadka expressed their commitment to cooperate for the promotion of both cinema and agriculture.
Festival director Chakrabhadour Chand stated that the festival was organized with the aim of establishing Guras as a destination for film tourism. Municipality Chairperson Bisi emphasized the need for collaboration for the overall development of Guras.
The festival also raised the global issue of climate change in the context of Karnali. It is expected that the festival will play an important role in raising public awareness about climate conservation through the film industry.
The festival is believed to have a positive impact on the tourism, agriculture, and film development sectors in Karnali.
