The ‘Rara Film, Tourism, and Climate Summit’ under the Second Karnali International Film Festival Concludes Grandly at the Source of the Historic Rara Lake
The ‘Rara Film, Tourism, and Climate Summit’, held as a part of the Second Karnali International Film Festival, was successfully and grandly concluded at the very source of the historic Rara Lake. The summit featured diverse discussions and debates on film, tourism, and climate change.
The chief guest of the event was Mr. Manjan Bahadur Karki, Chairperson of the Mugu District Coordination Committee. Other notable participants included Mr. Dinesh DC, Chairperson of the Film Development Board; Mr. Bishnu Kumar Bham, Mayor of Chhayanath Rara Municipality; Mr. Top B.C., Chairperson of Guras Rural Municipality; senior actress and director Ms. Deepa Shree Niraula; actor Mr. Pradeep Khadka; and Mr. Gopal Bhandari, Senior Officer at the Nepal Tourism Board, among others.
The summit was conducted in two focused sessions on film, tourism, and climate change. There were extensive discussions on local culture and language, tourism infrastructure, and promoting the representation of Karnali in the international market through cinema.
To honor and preserve the local Deuda culture and tradition, a Deuda song performance was also presented during the program. Board member and Deuda singer Ms. Sapana Shahi energized the audience with her vibrant Deuda performance.
