Kathmandu — A meaningful discussion on the future of cinema in Karnali Province took place at the Everest Film Academy, led by veteran actor Sunil Thapa. The gathering included Honorable Ghanashyam Bhandari, Minister for Social Development of Karnali Province, along with veteran actor Madan Krishna Shrestha and senior cinematographer Gauri Shankar Dhoju.
The conversation centered on unlocking the potential of Karnali as a destination for film development and cultural expression. With growing interest in promoting the region through cinema, the provincial government is preparing to establish the Karnali Academy of Arts and Culture, aimed at fostering artistic talent and encouraging cinematic growth in the province.
“This meeting was not only inspiring but also a stepping stone toward a new era for Karnali’s creative and cinematic landscape,” participants shared.
The discussion marks the beginning of a new discourse around film development in Karnali, focusing on collaboration between artists, government stakeholders, and institutions dedicated to cultural advancement.
