A panel discussion on the topic of “Karnali Cinema: Possibilities and the Role of the State” was conducted with the participation of federal MP Honorable Sobita Gautam, Karnali Province Assembly MP Honorable Ghanshyam Bhandari, Mayor of Birendranagar Municipality Mrs. Mohan Maya Bhandari Dhakal, and film producer-director Mr. Akash Adhikari. The discussion was facilitated by Mr. Chakrabahadur Chand, with the chairmanship of writer and former registrar Dr. Mahendra Kumar Malla.

During the discussion, it was concluded that there is significant potential for cinema in Karnali, and the role of the state must be crucial in developing plans and conducting various activities to harness this potential. It was emphasized that the arrival of film shooting in Karnali would increase local income and contribute significantly to tourism development through promotion, thereby underscoring the necessity of the state’s involvement in this development.
