A panel discussion on “Karnali’s Stories and Cinema: The Role of Elected Representatives and Experts” was conducted. The panel included Karnali Province Assembly MP Honorable Rajiv Bikram Shah, Chairperson of Gurans Municipality in Dailekh Mr. Top Bahadur Bisi, Chair of the Film Development Board and Nepali film superstar Mr. Bhuvan KC, literary figure Mrs. Basanti Shahi, and writer Dr. Navaraj KC. The session was conducted by Mr. Prakash Shahi, with the chairmanship of senior lawyer and former attorney Dhruv Kumar Shrestha.

During the discussion, the idea emerged that films should be made based on the stories of Karnali. It was emphasized that elected representatives must provide support, encouragement, and collaboration from their positions to bring the countless hidden stories of Karnali to the screen. Suggestions were made that if these stories could be translated into films, it would significantly boost the film industry in Karnali.

In conclusion, a special screening of the popular Nepali film “Prakash,” which was shot in Karnali, was held.
